Oppression and Power
Oppression is the social act of placing severe (often unjust or cruel) restrictions on an individual, group, or institution. Power is having control over resources; or control over barriers to participation; or control of information that shapes shared consciousness. Oppression and power are related to the health and well-being of communities. Oppression and power never act alone. Click here to access the Guide online.
