Intro – Compassionate Communication + Resources
Compassionate communication can include pausing to imagine how the words you speak might be received by and affect those who hear them. This aims to increase empathy and compassion for others. Ideally you can adjust or re-phrase potentially harmful words before they are spoken. This aims to bring more conscious awareness to communication habits and patterns, contributing to a group’s consciousness around language. At the same time, ‘policing’ each other’s language with shame and blame, is typically less helpful than ‘failing forward’ together.
